Drip Irrigation
ABOUT Micro Drip Method
Micro Dripping is a method of emitting very low flow rate, as low as 0.2 L/hr, close to one fifth the flow of ordinary drippers. Such low flow is resulting with better wetting distribution in the soil as seen in the illustrations on the side.
The slower infiltration in the soil allows the plant to develop a wider roots pack, as shown in the illustration.
A better matching between the watering rate and the rate of water uptake by the plant is achieved.
Waste of water due to drainage below the roots is eliminated resulting with better corps for less water.
Rain-Tal’s Micro Drippers are designed for use either with pressure water or in gravity systems:
- For pressure systems we offer our Mini Flow Regulator or a regulated mother dripper with a Mini-Manifold that feeds a bundle of outlets each terminated with a Micro Dripper.
- Gravity Micro Drip system operates from a small pool or water tank, that generates a very low pressure of less than 0.1 bar (1m). Water flows from the tank in supply tubes and feed lines to the Micro Drip. A typical system is illustrated below.
The flow in the Micro Drip feed lines (“laterals”) is very low, thus the tube diameters may be small.
This method is the only solution for zones where water resources are limited or where the water pressure is low due to lack of pumps, electric power or water supply infrastructure.
